Is my GTM firing?

Paste a site URL or a GTM-XXXXXXX container ID. We fetch the public container the way a browser does and read every tag, trigger and variable in it: what fires on page load, which tags are paused or orphaned, duplicate GA4 configurations, consent settings, and the ad platforms it sends to. No GTM access needed.

Paste a site URL to find its containers, or a GTM-XXXXXXX ID directly. Try .

What we check

  • Every GTM container on the page (and the one you paste)
  • Tag, trigger and variable counts and types
  • Tags with no trigger, triggers with no tag, paused tags
  • Duplicate GA4 configs and double-firing pixels
  • Consent mode and consent checks on tags
  • Destinations: GA4, Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn and others
  • Custom HTML tags that load more scripts

Cost of one run: 1 fetch of the container. Results for the same URL are kept for a few minutes, so running twice is free and instant.

Questions

Do you need access to my Google Tag Manager account?

No. A published container is a public JavaScript file every visitor downloads. We read that file. Unpublished workspace changes are not visible to us or to your visitors.

What is a dead tag?

A tag with no trigger attached, a tag whose trigger can never match (a wrong page path, an event nobody pushes), or a paused tag someone forgot. Dead tags are harmless until someone assumes they are tracking something.

How do I find my GTM ID?

View the page source and search for GTM-. It is in the script snippet near the top of <head>. Or run this tool on the site URL and it will list every container it finds.
